The best time to harvest Basil Red microgreens for optimal flavor is when they have developed their first set of true leaves. This typically occurs when they are around 1-2 inches (2.5-5 cm) in height. At this stage, the microgreens will have a strong basil flavor that is characteristic of the Red Rubin variety.
To harvest Basil Red microgreens, use clean scissors or a sharp knife to cut them just above the soil level, leaving the roots behind. Rinse the harvested microgreens gently under cool water to remove any soil particles.
It’s important to note that basil microgreens are best enjoyed when they are fresh and vibrant. Harvesting and consuming them promptly after harvesting ensures that you get the most flavor and aroma from the microgreens.
